Begum Rokeya was born on December 9, 1880 in the village of Pyarband in Mithapukur thana of Rangpur district.Her fathers name Zahir Uddin Abu Ali Haidar Saber and her mothers name is Rahatunnesa Chowdhury.Her real name is Rokeya khatun and her marital formulas name is Rokeya Shakhawat Hossain.Rokeya's father was well-versed in many languages, but the conservative was concerned about women's education.
The condition of women in Bangladesh was not good at the time Rokeya was born.The girls were not allowed to go outside.Even education-initiation and they were behind also.They could not go to school.The status of girls in the respectable families was the same.If they got some benefit, they were limited to the house.As a result, they would have spent their whole life inside the house.
The girls were supposed to have been born only to have children.So they will only do homework and will rear children.They did not have any freedom.In some cases women's opinions were ignored.
Before marige they had to under father and stay under the husband after marriage.
But Rokeya learned Bengali and English language well with the help of elder brother-sister.And become interested in acquiring knowledge.In 1898, he was married to Syed Sakhawat Hossain.He was a widower and Deputy Magistrate in the profession.He was a Urdu-speaking.Husband's encouragement and inspiration are way more accessible to his knowledge.
She establish a school for woman whose name Shakhawat Memorial Girls School.In spite of adverse criticism and various obstacles, he never withdrew from the goal of women's education.Rather, they wanted to illuminate the curtains and teachings of Muslim women in light of education.For this, he used to collect a student from house to house.
Rokeya prominent artist of Bengali prose.He has written a tremendous pedagogical and heart-felt prose to overcome the superstition and unity of society.All his writings originated from deep perception of society.
Motichur and Aboradhbashini of his significant works.Besides, Sultana's dream and Padmarag, two novels and compositions.On 9th December, 1932, the life of this great woman was born.
