Short description about some famous author of Bangladesh.

                                                       Samaresh Majumdar              

                                                                         

Samaresh Majumdar was born on 10 March 1942.He spent his childhood years in the tea gardens of Duars,Jalpaiguri,West Bengal,India.He was a student of the Jalpaiguri Zilla School,Jalpaiguri.He completed his bachelors in Bengali from Scottish Church College in Kolkata.His first story appeared in Desh literary magazine in 1967.Dour (Run) was his first novel,which was published in Desh in 1976.He is a well -known contemporary Bengali writer from West Bengal,India.He is known for creation of the detective character Arjun.The film Buno Haansh is also based on his novel titled Buno Haansh.He is a versatile writer. Perhaps his most famous novel is Saatkahon.

                                                               

                                                        Mohammad Kaykobad

                                                     
Mohammad Kaykobad was born on 1 May 1954 in Manikganj,Bangladesh.He is a computer scientist,educator,author and columnist from Bangladesh.He passed MS in Engineering from Odessa Maritime University in 1979.PhD from Flinders University of South Australia in 1986.Kaykobad is the pioneer in introducing Science Olympiad organized by Bangladesh Academy of Sciences and Informatics Olympiad in Bangladesh.He wrote a number of books on recreational mathematics ,Currently he is a professor of Computer Science and Engineering in Bangladesh university of Engineering and technology.He was a visiting professor at Kyung Hee University and Advanced Institute of Science and Technology,South Korea.The Chinese University of Hong Kong and North South University , Dhaka.

                                                       Sirajul Islam Chowdhury


Sirajul Islam Chowdhury was born in Baroikhali village under Sreenagar thana in Munshigonj zilla on June 23,1936.He is an eminent Litterateur ,professor emeritus of University of Dhaka.He is now editor of Natun Diganta.In his early life, he liked to build his career as a novelist .He enrolled with the English department at the University of Dhaka after an intermediate of arts degree in 1952,
obtained from Notre Dame College,preceded by matriculation from St.Gregory's High School in 1950.He received his master's degree in 1956 and worked briefly with Haraganga  College in Munshiganj and Jagannath College in Dhaka .He joined as a lecturer at English Department ,Dhaka University in 1957,setting out also to be a writer.He completed his post -graduate diploma in English studies at Leeds University UK and for doctoral studies at Leicester University,UK.

                                                        Dewan Mohammad Azraf


Dewan Mohammad Azraf was a teacher,author,politician,journalist,philosopher and advocate of women's progress.He was born in Sunamganj,Bangladesh in 1908.In 1993,he was honored as a National Professor in Bangladeh.He was a supporter of the Bengali Language Movement.Azraf passed BA with distinction from Murari Chand College,Sylhet in 1930 and received MA in Philosophy from the University of Dhaka in 1932.He joined Sunamganj College as a teacher in 1948.He taught part-time at the departments of Philosophy and Islamic Studies of the University of Dhaka from 1973 to 1990.He got the following awards Independence Day Award,Ekushey Padak,International Muslim Solidarity Prize,Islamic Foundation Prize and Srijnan Atish Dipankar Prize.He died in 1999.


                                                          Selina Hossain 


Selina Hossain was born  in 1947.She is a female author of Bengali Literature,living in Bangladesh,is a famous novelist .She is also an editor .She founded Fareea Lara Foundation,which works to improve the lives of impoverished people of Bangladesh.She wrote Josnay Surjyo Jala in 1973,Jalochchwas (The High Tide) in 1972 and Hangor Nodi Grenade (Shark,River,Grenade) in 1976.She got Bangla Academy Award in 1980.


                                                           Abdul Kadir


Abdul Kadir was born in 1906.He was a Bangladeshi poet .He graduate from the University of Dhaka .He was a teacher ,officer of media department ,editor of Mahenou'.His major books are Dilruba,Uttor Basanta and Chandasomikhon.He also edited Nazrul Rachanaboli,Rokeya Rachanaboli,Siraji Rachanabali and Quazi Imdadul Haq Rachanabali.He got Ekushe Padak in 1976 and Independence Day Award in 1983.He died in 1984.
