            Akhtaruzzaman Ilyas is the name of a unique genius in Bengali fiction.He was born on 12 February 1943 in uncle house  in Gotia village of Gaibandha.His father house was in Naruli village on the outskirts of Bogra town.His father's name is B.M Ilyas and his mother's name's Marium Ilyas.

His paternity name's Akhtaruzzaman Mohammad Ilyas.His early life was spent in Bogra and later in Dhaka.He received a Bachelor and Masters degree from Dhaka University.

In the career, he was a professor of Bangla in Government College.Akhtaruzzaman Ilyas  is a pre-eminent person in Bangladeshis  fiction.He never emphasized on increasing the number of writings.Rather emphasizes the quality of writing.


He observed the life and the world with deep insight.History of the country, tradition, culture, politics, economy, poverty, exploitation and deprivation, etc. has included the subject matter of literature.In view of all these things , trying to understand the peoples whole life.
