Jibanananda Das, one of the greatest poets of modern Bengali poetry.He was born on 17th February,1899 in Barishal.Father Satyanand Das was the headmaster of Barisal Brajamohan School and his mother Kusum Kumar Das was a famous poet of the era.He received inspiration from his mother to write poetry.Although he took different occupations for a short time, he spent most of his life as a professor of English literature.Poet Jibanananda Das created a world of poems feeling fine and deep.In particular, He pulled it out the picture of the village of Bengal is not compiled in Bangla literature.He also has a special place in Bengali literature as a fiction and essayist.His significant works of poetry:

2.Dhushor pandulipi
3.Banalata sen
4.Moha prithibi
5.Bela obela kalbela
6.Rupashi Bangla.
His one Essay is 'Kabitar kotha'.
His famous two novels is 'Mallaban;and Sutirtha'.
Jibanananda Das died suddenly on October 22, 1954 in a tram accident in Calcutta.
